Science

The Science curriculum aims to create young scientists who have a broad and in-depth understanding of scientific ideas and are inquisitive about the world around them.

The process through from KS3 (Years 7, 8 and 9) to KS4 (Years 10 and 11) aims to develop the knowledge and understanding to support this, without imposing any ceiling on any child’s ability.

Our curriculum has fully considered the depth and breadth of scientific knowledge and understanding, whilst showing a clear progression model between the different Scientific subject disciplines.

Our curriculum aims to foster positive attitudes toward Science, and to encourage our students to examine and appreciate how Science and Technology affects their lives and the ever-changing environment.

We aim to provide students with knowledge and skills that allows for a constructivist and collaborative approach, so that students leave school with a thorough understanding of their capabilities and with improved aspirations that enable them to make informed choices in their future career.
