Thanks to everyone who took part because the quality of entries was outstanding. Every form that entered will be getting class vivos. Thanks again we really enjoyed it.
Room 15 7LHI - Alice in Wonderland
This was an amazing effort and delighted the judges from start to finish. The more we looked the more we found. We loved the fact you started in the corridor with invitations to the “Tea Party” and the banners above the door outside the classroom. You even convinced Miss to dress up as Alice and gave her a very fluffy Cheshire cat. The creation took over the whole classroom from top to bottom. The effort and quality of this was brilliant and looked like everyone had been involved. The hats, caterpillar, white rabbit and tiny door in the skirting board were genius. You clearly knew the details in the book and we are sure it would encourage other pupils to read the book. Very well done 7LHI, you are very worthy winners. Mrs Hitchcock will be given bags of chocolate eggs for the whole form.
Room 38 7MK - The Avengers
Lots of ideas in the window piece and some fantastic individual drawings. We loved the arrangement of it and Thor’s 3D hammer and Captain Americas shield were brilliant. We thought the onomatopoeia was a great addition and liked the way you had presented in style appropriate to the graphic novel genre. This really was a vibrant visual delight, filled the whole window area and a very close runner up. Mr Kowalski will receive bags of chocolate eggs for his form.
Room 21 7JF - Batman
Loved the use of interactive “Hunt for the bat” and that you had turned it into a competition to get pupils interested. The extracts were really good and you were one of the few entries to include some text so well done for that. We liked the different artwork styles and the genre appropriate word bangs. The centrepiece batman light and logo was a good focal point. Thank you for a great effort and enjoy your class vivos. Well done 7 JF.
We thought this was a great colourful effort. The use of quotes from the novel was a very nice touch. We liked the information on film adaptation which shows good knowledge about the book. It was nice that the presentation items had been cut out and Mrs McIntosh loved the fact the chocolate bar had a bite out of it.
This was a very colourful, eye-catching and informative piece. The inclusion of a list of characters and the fact you were able to compare to the film clearly shows you know the book very well. Well done you have earned your vivos 7GL
I absolutely loved the World Book Day bunting and decorations at the classroom entrance, so much so that I am going to pinch your idea for the library next year.
We thought it was a great idea having to find Wally in the classroom and that it was interactive and fun. This really gave an essence of the book and what makes it so entertaining. We really enjoyed trying to find him and the tricky and ingenious places he appeared delighted us and made us smile. Well done 7NH. Class vivos for you all.
