Careers Provider Access Statement-

At Copley we aim to develop a young person’s understanding, knowledge, skills and confidence in relation to their learning options and career pathways, for both the present and the future. Interventions and activities are designed to enable individuals to make and implement well informed, realistic decisions about their career and manage subsequent transitions at both 14, 16, and 18.

In practice this Is delivered by:

  1. Life Skill lessons, assemblies, and Tutor activities across the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculums
  2. Extra-curricular events and visits
  3. Working with the following organisations and institutions, such as Positive Steps, local Further Education providers and Higher Education providers like the University of Manchester.

Thereby students will be able to

  1. Find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeship opportunities with education and training options available at each transition point as well as academic routes to FE and HE
  2. To hear from a range of local and national providers about a range of academic and technical education options available
  3. To understand how to make applications for a range of courses.

At the heart of all provision and support are the eight Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance

1.A stable careers programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
