Acting Principal's Address
Message from Acting Principal - Kenwyn Paddy
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to be able to write to you as the new Acting Principal of Copley Academy. The staff and children have been extremely positive and welcoming. It is a great privilege to be here. I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I have to ensure the highest standards of behaviour, teaching and learning and achievement.
Since my appointment, I have had the pleasure of speaking to all of our students, staff, governors and many of our parents. What has become immediately apparent to me is everyone’s commitment to making Copley Academy a great school that serves the local community and ensures students make good progress and get a good education. This ties in very closely with my own educational philosophy; everyone deserves to have a good education, the opportunity to fulfil their potential and to strive towards the academic or vocational career of their choice.
My priority as Acting Principal is to ensure that Copley Academy improves and is a school that students are proud to go to and teachers are inspired to teach in. Not only do I want to get to know all the students, staff and local community this term and in September, but I also want to build and develop an excellent team to work alongside me. This is to ensure we are able to meet the needs of all our children. It is vital that we achieve their full academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual potential.
I know how vital working in partnership with parents really is, in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. I strongly believe that achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand to ensure each child’s outstanding progress.
I hope you will support our high expectations in all areas, especially in behaviour, achievement and attainment. I have already spoken to all students in assemblies last week and explained that we are ‘Raising the Bar’ at Copley and for the need for students to respond accordingly.
I would like to thank you for all the conversations you have already had with me supporting the school and its commitment to change. Additionally, I would like to thank you personally for your continued support to ensure that Copley Academy becomes an outstanding place of learning. If you would like to discuss this further we will be holding a coffee morning to meet parents on Friday 12th July 2019 at 9.30a.m.
Please confirm your attendance to Rita Mobley, Operations Manager either via email firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone.
